Our Story

Alamance Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Company (AFM) has been protecting North Carolinians since 1892. Initially incorporated as the Alamance County Branch of the Farmers’ Mutual Fire Insurance Association of North Carolina, AFM met the rural insurance needs of central North Carolina as a county mutual insurance company for 116 years. Having served our policyholders in Alamance and the five adjoining counties for over a century, AFM expanded its charter in 2008 enabling us to serve policyholders across North Carolina.

Serving North Carolina Is What It’s All About.

Serving our North Carolina policyholders and agents is our chief priority. Participating in the communities where our agents, policyholders, and staff live, whether civically or socially, is important to the Alamance Farmers’ team. It has been rewarding for our team to give back to our communities by volunteering with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Little Pink Houses of Hope, and Backpack Buddies. In addition, at Christmas our team adopts several local children that come from families in need to ensure that those children can enjoy Christmas and receive much needed clothes, shoes, and educational tools. We are blessed to be able to give back to the communities we love.
