Company

Since 1892

Alamance Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Company (AFM) has been protecting North Carolinians since 1892. Initially incorporated as the Alamance County Branch of the Farmers’ Mutual Fire Insurance Association of North Carolina, AFM met the rural insurance needs of central North Carolina as a county mutual insurance company for 116 years. Having served our policyholders in Alamance and the five adjoining counties for over a century, AFM expanded its charter in 2008 enabling us to serve policyholders across North Carolina.

Why Choose Us?

For more than 130 years, we’ve been serving North Carolina residents. And that’s precisely how it’s going to stay. Other insurance carriers may leave the state, leaving policyholders in limbo. That won’t happen with us. Alamance Farmers Mutual was built in North Carolina by North Carolinians for North Carolinians.
We are owned by our policyholders, as opposed to stock insurance companies, which are owned by investors. Serving the insurance needs of our policyholders and their families is our chief concern.

Because North Carolina deserves the best.
Because North Carolina deserves the best.
